THE 28th AUSTRALIAN SONGWRITING CONTEST
The Australian Songwriting Contest is highly respected and extremely prestigious, offering more than $36,000 in prizes. APRA/AMCOS is the Major Sponsor, providing $3,000 in cash to the Songwriter of the Year!
The National Awards Night for this contest, held in Sydney on 28 August,
was as always a "glittering music industy event"[The Drum Media]. This year, JASON CAMPBELL-SMITH was named APRA's ASA Songwriter of the Year, and JO KELLY STEPHENSON recieved the Rudy Brandsma Award. BREWSTER/NEESON/BREWSTER (The Angels) were inducted into the Australian Songwriters Hall of Fame. Photos coming soon!!
